There are a couple of things going on that need to be carefully disentangled and explained. But that's a job that the candidate is simply not in a position to do. Kerry tried it, Hillary tried it, but they never managed to put the memes away because the press kept them alive. So Biden is going to need a good team and full-time explainer, starting now.

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
