In reply to the discussion: DailyKos Straw Poll has Warren with MAJOR Lead of 42% [View all]karynnj
(60,171 posts)This does prevent someone repeatedly voting as happens on many internet open polls. One problem is that the people who opt to vote are self selected. The bigger issue is that - like our DU primary results - it represents only the Daily Kos population. Note that in both the DU and Daily Kos polls, the numbers of people voting might be different than the people not voting.
That said, this is another in a series of things that suggest that Warren might be moving toward becoming the progressive alternative to Biden. At this point, even in the Iowa polls, that position is split between Sanders, Warren and Buttigieg. (Obviously, there are several not yet polling as high who could do/say something that moves them into becoming the main competitor to Biden. However, on DU, Warren has been moving up.
Given that DU leans to the left, the fact that Biden is still the strongest, might mostly reflect that the progressive side is split between multiple candidates. It is interesting that Daily Kos, which is not that different ideologically, is so heavily Warren. (Might be that that their format favors detailed, strongly defended, diaries rather that our posts, which either share an article or self written commentary. )

primary today, I would vote for: Joe Biden
