In reply to the discussion: DailyKos Straw Poll has Warren with MAJOR Lead of 42% [View all]karynnj
(60,172 posts)Warren has moved to a close second with Trump, while Sanders has faded substantially. The one difference is that here, you not only vote your one user name, but your choice becomes part of all your posts.
In neither case would the poll be relevant for all voters. Both can at best project where their population sees itself now. Ours is better as freeping is not possible. From our poll, I think that Biden has been and still is number one shows how strong he is because there is no doubt that DU overrepresents the left. However, one FUTURE sign of potential trouble for him, if it happens, would be if the non Biden supporters start to converge between one opponent.
However, consider that both in 1976 and 1992, pundits dreamed of one ABC (Anybody but Carter or Clinton) -- and the opposition remained fractured. In 2008, where we did get essentially a 2 person race, is as close as we have come to that and, in that case, Edwards imploded (even before his scandal) and no one else ever gained traction.
There's still a lot of time and there is still movement poll to poll, but I think Biden still has the best shot at the nomination - almost to the degree that it is his to lose.

primary today, I would vote for: Joe Biden
