Congratulations to our presumptive Democratic nominee, Joe Biden!
Democratic Primaries
In reply to the discussion: Why the continual referral of Senator Sanders as BS? [View all]Tom Rinaldo
(22,912 posts)135. W has no negative association. What about JC, BC and BO?
None of us would think of calling Carter, Clinton or Obama by those initials. Partially because they are commonly associated with other phrases, like BC/ AD, like Jesus Christ, and like Body Odor. BS is commonly associated with Bull Shit. We have 15 or more current or potential candidates running for President, and only one gets called by two initials here, and those just so happen to be derogatory.
If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for: Joe Biden
primary today, I would vote for: Joe Biden

His name is "Barack Hussein Obama," and his initials or BHO or BO - that's right.

My favorite though is "sanders," with a small "s"... just a sign that Bernie is gaining traction

Can you provide examples or are you just guessing? Why do Bernie people keep trying to stir it up

Couldn't agree more, for all the reasons you stated... why Bernie deserves our utmost respect...

You asked a question so it sure seemed like you were wondering and did care.

Just another way of showing disrespect to one of our leading Democratic candidates...

BS isn't a threat to the "established way of politically doing things" whatsoever.

Why not? Ever see the references to "PBO", or "HRC", or any number of others? When he changes...

Considering the new "re-framing" effort, perhaps he could be Bernard X Sanders?

Is this like the people who didn't like people calling Obama "Barack Hussein Obama?"

Yep; I do it, I admit that freely. If you can't handle your candidate getting called names,

Maybe for some it's to differentiate between bernie sanders and Sarah Huckabee Sanders n/t

BO was used. I never gave a second thought, just like I never thought negatively of "BS" for Bernie

HRC was routinely called Hillary Rodham Clinton; Sanders' middle name is rarely used, if ever

I honestly can't believe people are so insecure about their candidate that this is an issue

I looked it up; it looks like he doesn't even HAVE a middle name, so this is all really silly

Just a way to diss without risking an alert. Nobody uses KH or EW or JB or JI for other candidates

No, what's ridiculous is people getting so upset over petty stuff like this

B. Sanders is another option. But with no press briefings happening anymore

Well, since the topic is initials, I've seen BHO used many times, as well as PBO.

I never took it as such. I never saw anything where it was taken that way. Seriously, in a decade
