Democratic Primaries
In reply to the discussion: Bernie invoking Hillary [View all]StevieM
(10,500 posts)39. The superdelegates played no role in his 2016 defeat,
nor was there ever the possibility that they would.
Had he won the PDs, the SDs would have gone over to him, just like they did for Barack Obama in 2008.
Finally, there is no candidate in American history who the SDs were less likely to put over top than Hillary Clinton.
Nothing the was recently done has "ended the power of superdelegates." All the DNC did was enable Bernie to give speeches like the one he just gave. That was the real goal.
If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for: Joe Biden
primary today, I would vote for: Joe Biden

With the number of candidates that probably will be "alive" at the convention, probably no one...

This isn't going to help. Divisiveness will put an end to his candidacy, again, as it did before

Seriously, Cha, why is he doing this? Does he expect 16.9 million Hillary voters to turn on her

Yes -- the superdelegates were just a bonus for her -- not needed for her win. n/t

The facts are that the superdelegates disproportionately delared for one candidate early and that

If a member of Congress endorsed her, then by definition "a superdelegate declared."
