Democratic Primaries

(14,570 posts)Some of the comments were quite good. One person said, essentially, that was then and this is now. Another suggested Biden may have 'evolved' past some of the things and would be different now. Another still pointed out how Warren at one time was a Republican.
If Biden goes deep in the primaries, I'm going to be among those pressuring him and his campaign, rightly, to work to reverse the Bankruptcy Abuse Prevention and Consumer Protection Act of 2005. Joe Biden was one of the first Democratic supporters of the bill and voted for it four times until it finally passed in March 2005. He voted against amendments to the bill that would have helped people forced into bankruptcy by big medical bills, and that would have forced credit card companies to give people more warning about the financial consequences of only paying the minimum.
So, as they say in football, if he goes deep in the primaries, he'd better bloody well do a U-Turn on that stink-bomb of a law. I won't withhold my vote - I have never, and would never do that - but until he makes that commitment, he doesn't have my full support.
I can see him evolving on sexism like he did on gay marriage - that's ok. But the BAPCPA? That requires action toward repeal.
primary today, I would vote for: Joe Biden
