One thing I like about Yang's candidacy is that it might be meaningful for Asian voters to seem themselves represented on the stage along with the other candidates challenging the white male template for the majority of presidents and candidates for centuries. I am not aware of evidence that there is widespread support for Yang among Asian voters, and I don't assume that he is carrying an ethnic platform.
I would like to learn more about what is important to them or if there are any collective issues or concerns that they see as important. As a white person, it's something I should have been learning about all along.
