(58,785 posts)The general notion that we should be looking for someone to excite us, as if we're voting for next season's entertainment lineup, degrades and warps the decision process. It suggests everything already proven, and thus unexciting, must be inferior choices. Surely brave and bold citizens should set their sights on something else, something exciting?
And don't think for a moment that steering as many as possible away from what many mainstream voters approve, and is therefore by definition unexciting, isn't much of what's behind this. There are as many motives as there are groups pushing this, but the large majority are working against us.
Seems to me that Trump and the rising threat of fascism -- that it really can happen here, and is, should be all the excitement anyone could need.
