But in any case, the ostensible reason the Democrats justify going with a center candidate is to get the elusive "Swing voter", the guy who votes Republican but could (in theory) be persuaded to vote Democrat. All you need to do, the hypothesis holds, is to move right. Not be too "Liberal"
It's literally why Obama chose Biden as his VP. I think it was why Clinton chose Kaine.
Well, the problem is that hasn't worked at all. Red state voters aren't' impressed by a conservative or centrist Democrat.
But apparently they are willing to take a shot on a progressive.
When Obama was turning red states purple, it was seen as a great accomplishment.
When Sanders does it, it's somehow comparable to Stock holme syndrome and the Confederacy?!
Again there is a gross double standard.
