27. Two reasons I participate

1. We are each others largest trading partners. (Some believe that's only one way). And so because we are so intricitly tied together, what happens there directly affects our economy. ie....if you have a recession, its difficult for us not to follow. So every Canadian should have an interest in what happens there.

2. I believe in a more of a global outlook. Furthermore, I think every more liberal leaning person has an obligation to take into account what goes on all over the globe, in this ever increasing globalized world, both economically and with social media. For instance, I feel closer to American Democrats, than I do Canadian Conservatives. I identity with more liberal politics and parties in all countries. I think more and more, we have to stand together. With more and more self styled authoritarian right wing leaders elected using fear and racism (and with help from Putin). to create a worldwide network of political leaders that work directly for the 1% of the planet. Borders don't matter to this class of people. The health of the planet or people do not matter. Only accumulating wealth.

The Democratic Party is the party in the US that best represents the interests of those fighting against this development. Pushing the other direction, like encouraging Medicare for All, is very important to counter the disinformation and stealing of treasuries by the stooges for the 1% like Moscow Mitch, to shower themselves with tax breaks and subsidies, while dismantling environmental protections and making it easier to pollute and pay miserable wages.

3. (bonus) I like this place. It saved my sanity when I joined during the Iraq war. I like debating issues that are common in every western democracy, and could apply here in Canada as well. I don't take anything personal. I don't alert just to stop an uncomfortable conversation. I prefer to back my opinions with words.
If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Undecided
