Democratic Primaries

(1,736 posts)DU seems older than the overall Democratic base. I'm 56, and I have had other posters ask how old I am after hearing my views. If we were a younger community, I doubt that this happens.
Many, not all, DUers are also slow to rethink assumptions about the Democratic electorate. Our base is younger, more diverse racially, and more willing to advocate for structural change than in recent years. There is not as much sentimentality in the younger base for the Clintons, Kerry, or even for Biden or Obama as many DUers expect, and this is a source of contention sometimes and stereotyping of younger voters. And, the fact that 1972 is held up as a political lesson as opposed to 2016, 2008, 2004, or 2000 is also telling.
I hope that our national and state Democratic leaders are able to quickly let go of grudges and failed assumptions if Sanders wins, or if Biden wins for that matter. We will need to develop a winning strategy quickly that helps our chances in all races, state and national.
The challenges are many, and I hope we can adapt collectively to the new conditions and win this pivotal election!
primary today, I would vote for: Undecided
