Democratic Primaries

(6,448 posts)The mistake Bernie made was to use Establishment instead of Centrist. Growing up in the 60s and 70s, Establishment was a dirty word. It could be sour grapes over that whole SuperDelegate fiasco in '16, but he should act his age by now.
To unite the party for November, a Centrist (Biden/Bloomberg) should pick a Progressive as VP. The same is true if a Progressive (Bernie/Warren) wins the top of the ticket and picks a Centrist as their VP. For the rest of the party, it's a consolation prize, but at least we will have won the WH.
Bernie's other mistake is that, if he knew he was running this time, he's had 4 years to declare himself an actual Democrat--to make it easier on him as a candidate. We've had as many as 23 candidates this time, plus quite a few new Dems in Congress are progressive and aren't self-titled Independents.
A smart man like Bernie should have figured this out if someone like me has.
primary today, I would vote for: Joe Biden
