Democratic Primaries

(58,785 posts)consider EVERYONE not with them as "the establishment" they want to destroy. Their hostility extends to ALL who don't support their leadership, not just those whom our Democratic majorities have elected to serve us in our party establishment.
That contempt and genuinely dangerous group antagonism toward all Democrats not with them is actually a reflection of the same attitudes their chosen leader has revealed all his life. Sanders' official rhetoric carefully limits his "establishment" attacks to Democrats in office, sensibly avoiding overtly insulting the voters he needs, although covertly he does constantly. (No, Democrats aren't just as bad as Republicans, and no, Democrats don't "do it too."
But if Sanders is not dumb enough to attack Democratic voters directly on the stump, millions of his antagonistic, pumped-up populist followers are just that dumb, and self indulgent. Those on-line mobs are revealing what his movement really is by attacking all not with them with the verbal brushes they have to settle for for now. And by promising it won't always be just verbal noise, that we can't stop them from marching right over us and imposing their "agenda" on us.
Well, I'm proud to be one of the "gelatinous 100 year olds" who support Biden. That really shouldn't strike me as preferable to any of the other nasty insults they throw our way, but I just got a kick out of it. Not the ruthless, lawless, authoritarian smashing us out of their way part, though.
primary today, I would vote for: Joe Biden
