Democratic Primaries

(7,462 posts)Trump. But I think you might be misinterpreting Bernie's rhetoric? What I have seen over the last 50 years is the Democratic Party moving further to the right, even as the population has moved further to the left. We (the Dem Party) have almost become Republican Lite, taken a few crumbs from the GOP and called it a win and seen the Judicial, the Congress, and the SCOTUS move further and further to the right - now even the Fed has become politicized. These are not victories for the Democratic Party. The US has not been a friendly power to the rest of the world - it seems we are more interested in Empire than being a beacon of HOPE and that is sad.
With the Citizens United ruling by a right-wing SCOTUS you cannot discount the influence of $$$ from our elections. Most working people are fed up with this system, especially young people who will inherit this mess long after us old folks are gone - can you blame them for not wanting someone to fight for them? to disrupt the greed and unfairness of the system? to want a revolution?
Will compromise and the status quo mean we will fight for Climate Change - nope, for a good and affordable education - nope, to be able to afford decent housing without struggling, nope.
They and I are "sick and tired" of being "sick and tired".
I know who I would elect to best represent by interests - Bernie or Elizabeth. My hesitation is only the FEAR that it might mean another 4 years of the imbecile we now have. I have to face the facts that most "white folks" are voting for racism, misogyny, homophobia, xenophobia, and just pain nastiness and I don't know how to fight it other than voice my opinion and VOTE.
What a friggin mess.
primary today, I would vote for: Joe Biden
