(109,835 posts)and this time there are a bunch of non-Hillary people competing with him for anti-Hillary votes. So between those people, and the Hillary voters, Bernie's not going to make it.
And CA, where Hillary did very well, is voting in March this year, not June. And there's going to be one less caucus state for Bernie. Washington state, which chose delegates in caucuses last time around, will have them chosen in a primary instead. And Hillary did much better in the primary than Bernie did, though he won the caucuses. (More than 93% of Washingtonians in a recent poll decided to dump the caucuses.)
As a reminder, Hillary got 2383 pledged delegates in 2016, and she only needed 2026 for the majority. The superdelegates beyond that were just a bonus.
