In reply to the discussion: Bernie's made it clear: He's NEVER going away [View all]democrattotheend
(11,605 posts)First of all, I think they are good questions, and as someone on CNN's panel pointed out, he's giving Biden the opening to win over his voters who still aren't sold. He's also giving himself cover to concede if he doesn't do well after they've had a substantive one-on-one debate on the issues.
He's talked all along about what HE plans to do, but I (and the commentators on CNN) got the sense that he sees the writing on the wall now and knows he very likely won't be the nominee. So he is speaking for his supporters and even some of us who didn't support him this time who want to know what Biden is going to do other than end the insanity (which is certainly not insignificant, but it would be nice to have something to vote for instead of just someone to vote against).
Bernie didn't attack Biden in that press conference, he focused his fire on Trump, and he made it crystal clear he's going to support Biden assuming he wins the nomination. In other words, pretty much everything anti-Bernie people here have been demanding. But it's never enough, is it?
primary today, I would vote for: Undecided
