Democratic Primaries

(95,243 posts)When people cast votes in a primary, they are selecting delegates to the Party's convention. In some states they may be listed as a separate ballot line, with their allegiance noted. In any case, voters send delegates to the convention bound to vote for a specific candidate on the first ballot. Mr. Biden has a much larger number of delegates than Sanders because because a great many voters wanted him to be President, rather than Sanders. A vote for any candidate is necessarily a vote against any other candidates or candidate.
This is not rocket surgery.
"When things are not called by their right names, what is said cannot make sense. When what is said does not make sense, what is planned cannot succeed. When plans do not succeed, people become uneasy. When people are uneasy, punishments do not fit crimes. When punishments do not fit crimes, people cannot know where to put hand or foot."
primary today, I would vote for: Joe Biden
