He wants a partner, someone who is not too far from him policy-wise. Biden and Warren have some not insignificant policy differences.

Also, Biden needs someone younger than 70 and (preferably) someone who appeals to African Americans, who were/are his base, and/or working class white voters, who might help turn PA/MI/WI. Warren turns 71 later this year and, in her own presidential run, showed no particular strength among either group.

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
