(2,113 posts)the Mueller Report Ongoing Matter redactions surrounding the portion that mentions Bernie's campaign. There is also the matter of his opposition to Russian sanctions. I believe that unless voters learn what is beneath those redactions that it's just too risky to even consider him as the nominee. There's just too much at stake. There are so many other choices who won't scare off moderates and who will be fully embraced by all those who are still and may always be harboring a deep lack of trust and hard feelings. I don't believe there is anything he can ever do or say that will change that and I don't believe he is capable of uniting voters against Trump for those reasons. I also know that Vermont is a unique state in that if he were to leave the Senate it is not a given that his seat would go to a Democrat. It could just as easily go to a Republican, especially since Vermont has a Republican governor right now. I used to live in Vermont and the politics there are very unique. I believe the more Senators that stay put to help Democrats take the majority, the better, especially if there is any chance a Republican could take that seat.
I don't believe Bernie will be the nominee. I just hope that it becomes very clear very early that he won't win and that he drops out early and gracefully this time, for the good of the country and his followers.
primary today, I would vote for: Undecided
