(146,286 posts)I don't think he will do that this time, anymore than he did it last time. In fact, with the long list of primary candidates who will be attractive to some Bernie voters from the 2016 primaries, I doubt he'll make it past Super Tuesday, frankly.
I realize that some people can't imagine that happening, but it's quite possible. I think it's likely, in fact.
That's just my opinion, of course, but it's based on watching the campaigns so far. There's a lot of talent in the race this time, and many of the candidates have characteristics that are going to attract potential Sanders voters in the primaries. Bernie would have to run the table to win the nomination, and I don't see him doing that this time around. He didn't do it in 2016, and this year, there's way more competition for those early primary elections.
The numbers just aren't there for him.
