(10,106 posts)The one in which he and many others like him had publicly vowed to either stay home, or vote for Jill Stein. "See, I told you Killary would lose," he gloated, "if the DNC hadn't rigged the primaries, Bernie would have easily beaten Trump."
"So how do you know that would have happened?" I responded. "Because more Democrats would have turned out to vote for Bernie," he noted. "Oh, you mean all of Hillary's supporters would have voted for Bernie, because that's the only way your guy could have won."
"Sure," he answered, "that's what you're supposed to do in the general election, come together and support your party's nominee." "Right, just like all you Sanders supporters did for Hillary," I laughed. "And why would Hillary supporters do that, particularly after so many of you guys vowed to never vote for the lesser of two evils?" Complete silence.
His total lack of self-awareness was jarring. I hope not to have similar conversations after the 2020 election.
