(10,819 posts)We are--in this moment--engaged in battle for the heart and soul of this country. We're witnessing the damage done every day. I believe the vast majority of Americans are patriots, horrified with the daily assault on basic decency and American values. No progress on wages or inequality or job security is possible if we lose the country to the very goons who marched in Charlottesville.
Joe Biden will be talking to union members in Pittsburgh on Monday. I suspect that rally will be delivered in the same vein as the speech before the Electrical Workers Union several weeks ago, speaking directly to concerns of the working class but also to all America: we are better than this, bigger-hearted than this. We are America where possibility is unlimited. Yes, we have flaws and fault-lines but that's not what defines us as a people. We're a country who has done big things. We need to get back to that, remember who and what we are, not by shrinking into the corner but by stepping out, throwing our arms wide open to the future and the world.
Joe Biden can change the narrative bringing us back from the brink. And he can win in 2020.
primary today, I would vote for: Joe Biden
