(3,922 posts)Sorry if I offend any fellow seniors out there, but Joe Biden will be a ripe 78 years old at the swear-in.
That's 82 at the end of his first term if anyone's counting.
Remember how amazed we were at how much Obama aged during his term?
Yes, we all know some amazing 80 year old's out there, but isn't it time for new young blood? The one's that I know are amazing in short doses - not sure they can handle the 24/7 x 4 of a full term Presidency.
I agree that Joe Biden has the chops, knows the ropes, and can be an effective executive - certainly a huge upgrade from the present situation. But so can some of our younger candidates. We have effective legislators among the candidates, we have idealists, and we have a reasonable cross-section of party ideology with our choices. I know that our country is severely damaged right now, but isn't there a reasonable candidate younger than 75 (or 65?!) out there?
I'll strongly support any Democratic candidate that survives the primaries and garners the nomination, including Joe of course, but I'm thinking it's actually somewhat cruel to encourage Joe at this point. Just an opinion.
primary today, I would vote for: Joe Biden
