1. No, I think it's * that wants to attack us.
Because those of us who were old enough to vote didn't like his daddy and booted him the fuck out.

Now, just like Saddam, * wants to take us out. Only he'll say it's the terraists fault.

9. Who is giving the 'speech?'

It's so obvious that he's repeating the words coming in on his earpiece. The 'fake' pages on the lectern are a nice touch, but what real person speaks in those short jerky sentences? Too bad we can't have a replay of the glitch that happened on June 5 during the press conference in France when the audio from the earpiece was broadcast loud and clear. One can only dream that it happens again and no former president's death is announced moments later.

4. Bush wants the terrorists to attack us. That's why he keeps pushing this.
Believe me, they (the neocons) will make the next attack happen at a crucial point. The so-called 'terrorists' are quite content with killing Americans in Iraq and elsewhere. They made their point on our soil on 9/11. The next attack will on our soil will be by the neocons, for the neocons, and of the neocons. They need it to happen to justify their own exixtence and behavior.

40. Did he say Saddam or Iraq? Usually the word choice is carefully
orchestrated. There was a "terrorist leader" sorry can't recall the name at the moment, who was slipped into Baghdad for medical treatment a few years back but once Saddam found out about this he expelled the guy from the country. Usually the administration says, "Iraq had ties to terrorist leaders," which isn't entirely untrue.

Seriously, this isn't a press conference.. According to CNN it's a "Live News Event". This thing, whatever it is, is completely partisan and nothing more than a free campaign ad. I'm about ready to explode.

Like what he's saying is too complicated, so he has to rephrase it for those less intelligent than him.

It's painfully obvious that he is the one who doesn't understand the subjects on which he speaks. And since he realizes that he doesn't have a clue about the words he is reading, he compensates by being a condescending JERK to those in attendance. Anyway, that's how I perceive his "speeches."

50. knew-cleee-airrre weapons
is mentioned. Yes, short 5 word sentences, long pauses, very slow
e-nun-ci-a-tion (just like Hughes taught him). He said "rough road ahead" mentioned "Iran and Korea" with emphasis and then his right eyebrow twitched upward. Gawd only knows what he has in mind. The secret service seemed unusually animated and paranoid after the speech when chimpy shook some hands.

51. Well, then do something about it.
You know, if the threat from Al-Qaeda is so great, why aren't we sending more troops to Afghanistan? Aren't we supposed to be 'pre-empting' wars these days? We 'pre-empted' Iraq, and now here's a 'credible' threat from Al-Qaeda....

Bob Herbert had a good quote yesterday in the NYT...

If we know that bin Laden and his top leadership are somewhere along the Afghanistan-Pakistan border, and that they're plotting an attack against the United States, why are we not zeroing in on them with overwhelming force? Why is there not a sense of emergency in the land, with the entire country pulling together to stop another Sept. 11 from occurring?

Bush is an idiot.

57. Mr. President,if we're in imminent danger of being attacked by Al Qaeda...
...then why aren't you redeploying those 135,000 troops in Iraq on the AFGHANISTAN-PAKISTAN BORDER?

SOMEONE, PLEASE ASK THIS QUESTION... PLEASE.

61. So What??
Back when the Aug 6, 2001 PDB came out, bush and his cronies said that there wasn't enough specific intelligence for him to do anything
about it. Now there all over the media referring to the threat that Tom Ridge spoke of last week. They are all such idiots.

And why is the media and everyone else harping on intelligence failures. Now that we know there were no WMDs and all the other crap, has that stopped Georgie and Dickie from still making the same WMD/treats claims. NOOOOO! The only intelligence failure is in the Oval Office.

69. Even More Importantly
Why does the media not question that the intelligence we are getting now about planned attacks might not be reliable?

Aren't the same agencies, who failed so spectacularly according to the administration, the same ones giving the chimp and ridge their data about these "new threats"?
