Any DUer that still believes the NYT and the WP are real newspapers
are DUmmies.

The New York Times has a Carlyle man on their board of directors and the Washington Post has a long history of Bush love:

With the exception of a few decent columnists both are complete rags.

We should no count on either for the truth.

1. there is no reason to look to them as a source for news.

2. Indeed
These newspapers cheered us on into an illegal and immoral war. They are arms of the Republican party, nothing more.

The mainstream media have the blood of untold thousands on their hands.

Will one true journalist stand up and speak truth to power? Jesus Christ.

4. I'm the biggest griper about the WaPost around. NYT=Chalabi News
I loved the post from the 70's when I lived in NYC through the year that boy toy nepotism beneficiary David (or whatever) Graham took over. I read his bio and he sounded qualified to be a mid size town police PR officer. It's sucked since then. I send the Ombudsman a message about once a month telling him the latest trash (from Steno Sue to Millbanque-sic). I even put a disclaimer at the bottom of my messages around Steno Sue time: "I work for myself. Please contact me directly if you want to get me fired for disagreeing with the Post."

The POS never responds to my begging for them to become a real paper again so I can buy it and read it EVERY F'ING DAY!.

NYT + Judith Miller = Chalabi News = Death and Destruction. 'nuf said.

Excellent post. Keep kicking A in da South! I'm doing my bit in Virginia.

5. Not entirely.
I don't read the Post that much. I have fallen away from the Times more each day. I do read their Arts section (it's hard to fake that) and the Magazine on Sunday (for the crossword mainly). I check out their Op/Ed pieces out of amusement more than to be informed. Their are good journalists in both, IMHO, if they were only highlighted more. I read Frank Rich as a staple. I liked your link, btw. I've read that on another post tonight, and I recommend it. Thanks, Melodybe!

7. No problem, I sent that one out to everyone on my email list

The NYT does have a few good columnists and I'll agree the arts sections is good, but since they choose to hide all of their good reporters, and consistantly toe the Bush line, I'll still going to call them a rag.

10. Oh, they're a rag!

No argument there. They are shameless whores, just like the majority of them, not along the same line as some of the others, like the NY Post or WSJ. But they are a rag. :-)
