I can't believe I'm going to have to start avoiding this place already
The hatred and bile is already in full steam this far out and it looks like many of the posters I had to put on ignore back in '04 will have to go back there. It's very frustrating not to be able to get good info on the candidates, etc like we get from this forum without all the anger.:grr:

2. Anger?
It's the national pastime. Anyone who is not angry is not paying attention.

5. we're a country in an illegal occupation
under an illegal president, killing tens of thousands a year, hobbling our economny for years to come while the future of the planet is in jeopardy.

meanwhile, our own party equivocates & fights amongst itself.

everyone here, EVERYONE, wants someone to stand up & tell america the hard truth - we're killing ourselves. when democratic candidates fail to meet that standard, anger results.

you can handle it, you're a big boy now.

8. well said.....citizens have a duty to demand truth from their government just
Edited on Tue Feb-20-07 05:07 PM by blm
as it is our government's duty to provide citizens with the knowledge they need to make informed decisions.

We should LOATHE secrecy and privilege as our founders did, and even MORE than they since we have so much more hindsight to see how destructive secrecy and privilege will be to a democracy.

9. That is a excellent point...
I know for a fact -- I won't mention the person I had voted for in the past -- to keep your suggestion, that if I had information about them; I would never of voted for them. I know where I live -- I basically get no info about who I am voting for -- I walk in the booth having read 500 -- words -- on a glossy brochure.

Perhaps, if they had an area of DU where we could discuss the candidate's, just by calling them by number rather then name-- an discuss their ideas -- then the day before the election the names of the ones associated with that number are revealed, might work, but if not your point is an excellent one.

If we were not so harsh -- perhaps some that are running -- might even come here for a question an answer discussion.
