Latte drinking, Sushi-eating, Left-wing Freaks check in here
Edited on Wed Jan-07-04 05:37 PM by joefree1
It's terrible that those in-bred, flag-sucking, OxyContin-popping, Faux-News-watching, Apocalytic-yeaning, Goose-stepping, Right-wing Zombies are sinking so low as to insult us with Stereo-types.

Got anymore names for them?

Even if you're not a Dean supporter how true are the labels for you? How should we fight this new type of attack politics? I don't have a a volvo or a body piercing but the rest is true.

Dean Is Targeted by Ad Campaign
Conservative group calls the Democrat's backers a 'Hollywood-loving, left-wing freak show.'

By Nick Anderson and Janet Hook, Times Staff Writers
edit...
The ad features a husband and wife and opens with an announcer asking, "What do you think about Howard Dean's proposal to raise your taxes by $1,900 a year?"

The husband replies, 'Well, I think Howard Dean should take his tax-hiking, government-expanding, latte-drinking, sushi-eating, Volvo-driving, New York Times-reading … "

The wife jumps in: "Body-piercing, Hollywood-loving, left-wing freak show back to Vermont where it belongs."

Ominous Polls:
A look at the Gallup polls over the past few moths show why Democrats are becoming increasingly nervous about putting Clinton at the head of their ticket.
In a head-to-head match up on March 20, Bush led by only 52-43 percent and Clinton was indeed within striking range. But as the weekly disclosures took their toll during the ensuing primaries, Clinton's margin fell to 54-38 percent on March 29 and then fell further to 54-34 by the beginning of April.
Edit ...
"The negatives are forming on Bill Clinton like a political stalactite, drop by drop," said veteran Democratic consultant David Sawyer. "Each drip leaves a residue that builds on his negative image."

I saw the ad, it's kind of funny....

I'm a left wing freak too, but I don't do any of what the ad describes. Weirdly enough the couple in the ad look like the types who do drive volvos, drink expensive coffee and eat raw food. Too rich and elite for my blood.

Nothing on the list. I guess I'm boring. Nothing pierced currently (I did have my ear pierced 10 years ago); I drive a Camaro; don't like lattes; never read the Times; and have sushi maybe once a year.

In fact, the only clue that I have any political leanings at all come from my web site which, frankly, is pretty mean-spirited toward right-wingers.

I don't drive a Volvo (and actually think they're kinda ugly - no offense to anyone who does own one.) I rarely read the NY Times, but would believe it before I believed the NY Post. Prefer mochas to lattes but am actually trying to cut down on coffee and switching to green tea at the moment.

As far as government expansion goes, I believe the Bush Criminal Empire's "Homeland Security Department" was the largest government expansion in 50 years, right?

Even as a Dean supporter, it was funny. But truth is, I guess these folks don't mind saddling their children, grandchildren, and by the looks of those two rich folks, great grandchildren.

By the way, the amount mentioned in the commercial is the average, with Bill Gates, and all of the others rolled into one.

If your poor, you should vote out that corporate whore, GWB.

19. I'm a Left Wing Freak and a pencil-neck geek!
Edited on Wed Jan-07-04 05:55 PM by cryofan
Or, to turn that old tune around on the RightWingers:

Back when I was a kid, life was going swell.
Till something happened, blew every thing to hell.
That night my daddy stumbled in, all pale and weak,
Said "A woman up the block just gave birth to a Right Wing geek."

Mom said, "Sell it to the circus, what the heck."
Dad said, "Nope, this one's a pencil neck.
And if there's one thing lower than a Rush Limbaugh freak,
It's a Bush-lovin', Limbaugh Listenin', Right Wing geek."

You see if you take a pencil that won't hold lead,
Looks like a pipe cleaner atached to a head,
Add a buggy whip body with a brain that leaks,
You got yourself a FR-reading, Right Wing geek.

(chorus)
Right Wing geek, Bush-Lovin' freak,
scum suckin', pea head with a lousy physique.
He's a one man, no gut, loosing streak.
Nothin' but a Right Wing geek.

Soon the RW geeks were poppin' up all over town.
You couldn't hardly sneeze without knockin' one down.
After a nice juicy steak, if you need a toothpick,
Just reach for a RW geek, they'll do the trick.

One day we cut one up for fish bait.
Learned our lesson just a little bit late.
Soon as the RW geek hit the drink, the water turned red.
Next day, sure enough, all the fish were dead.

chorus

Most any night you know where I can be found.
Yeah, stomping some RW geek's head into the ground.
So keep the faith 'cause in DU you can trust,
I won't give up 'til the last right wing geek bites the dust.

chorus

They say, "these RW geeks come a dime a dozen."
I'm lookin' for the guy who's supplyin' the dimes.
Its gonna be real hard times for all of these
grit eatin',
Rove suckin',
Bush lickin',
Rush Listenin',
gut grindin',
nail bitin',
glue sniffin',
scab pickin',
butt scratchin',
egg hatchin',
sleezy,
smelly,
dirty, lousy, rotten, stinkin', freaks.
Nothing but a Right Wing geek

we want t-shirts and bumper stickers saying same. Bring those near-beer-drinking, pork-rind-eating, pickup-truck-driving-without-seatbelt-wearing illiterates on!

It's sad, actually -- people used to aspire to sophistication, and work to achieve it. The Club for Growth wants the mass of people to "know their place," be satisfied with -- even proud of -- their lot in life, and leave the spoils, and taxbreaks, to themselves.

And it's sad that we as a nation find ourselves so divided, with groups like Club for Growth encouraging the divide for political gain.

48. For some reason I thought of this song
(Forgive me, but this was WAY before Charlie Daniels became a RW Asswipe...)

THE UNEASY RIDER
Charlie Daniels

SPOKEN:
I was takin' a trip out to L.A.
Toolin' along in my Chevrolet
Tokin' on a number and diggin' on the radi-o ...
Just as I crossed the Mississippi line
I heard that highway start to whine
And I knew that left rear tire was about to go.

Well, the spare was flat and I got uptight
'Cause there wasn't a fillin' station in sight
So I just limped on down the shoulder on the rim
I went as far as I could and when I stopped the car
It was right in front of this little bar
Kind of redneck lookin' joint, called the Dew Drop Inn.

Well, I stuffed my hair up under my hat
And told the bartender that I had a flat
And would he be kind enough to give me change for a one
There was one thing I was sure proud to see
There wasn't a soul in the place, 'cept for him and me
And he just looked disgusted and pointed toward the telephone.

I called up the station down the road a ways
And he said he wasn't very busy today
And he could have somebody there in just 'bout ten minutes or so
He said now you just stay right where you're at
And I didn't bother tellin' the durn fool
I sure as hell didn't have anyplace else to go.

I just ordered up a beer and sat down at the bar
When some guy walked in and said; "Who owns this car?
With the peace sign, the mag wheels and four on the floor?"
Well, he looked at me and I damn near died
And I decided that I'd just wait outside
So I layed a dollar on the bar and headed for the door.

Just when I thought I'd get outta there with my skin
These five big dudes come strollin' in
With this one old drunk chick and some fella with green teeth
And I was almost to the door when the biggest one
Said; "You tip your hat to this lady, son."
And when I did all that hair fell out from underneath.

Now the last thing I wanted was to get into a fight
In Jackson, Mississippi on a Saturday night
'Specially when there was three of them and only one of me
They all started laughin' and I felt kinda sick
And I knew I'd better think of somethin' pretty quick
So I just reached out and kicked old green-teeth right in the knee.

He let out a yell that'd curl your hair
But before he could move, I grabbed me a chair
And said; "Watch him folks, 'cause he's a thouroughly dangerous man."
"Well, you may not know it, but this man's a spy
He's an undercover agent for the FBI
And he's been sent down here to infiltrate the Ku Klux Klan."

He was still bent over, holdin' on to his knee
But everyone else was lookin' and listenin' to me
And I layed it on thicker and heavier as I went
I said; "Would you beleive this man has gone as far
As tearin' Wallace stickers off the bumpers of cars
And he voted for George McGovern for president."

"He's a friend of them long-haired, hippie type, pinko fags
I betcha he's even got a Commie flag
Tacked up on the wall, inside of his garage
He's a snake in the grass, I tell ya guys
He may look dumb, but that's just a disguise
He's a mastermind in the ways of espionage."

They all started lookin' real suspicious at him
And he jumped up an' said; "Now, just wait a minute, Jim
You know he's lyin' I've been livin' here all of my life."
"I'm a faithfull follower of Brother John Birch
And I belong to the Antioch Baptist Church
And I ain't even got a garage, you can call home and ask my wife."

Then he started sayin' somethin' 'bout the way I was dressed
But I didn't wait around to hear the rest
I was too busy movin' and hopin' I didn't run outta luck
And when I hit the ground, I was makin' tracks
And they were just takin' my car down off the jacks
So I threw the man a twenty an' jumped in an' fired that mother up.

Mario Andretti woulda sure been proud
Of the way I was movin' when I passed that crowd
Comin' out the door and headin' toward me in a trot
And I guess I should-a gone ahead and run
But somehow I couldn't resist the fun
Of chasin' them all just once around the parkin' lot.

Well, they're headin' for their car, but I hit the gas
And spun around and headed them off at the pass
I was slingin' gravel and puttin' a ton of dust in the air
Ha Ha, well, I had 'em all out there steppin' and fetchin'
Like their heads were on fire and their asses was catchin'
But I figured I oughta go ahead an split before the cops got there.

When I hit the road I was really wheelin'
Had gravel flyin' and rubber squeelin'
And I didn't slow down 'til I was almost to Arkansas
Well, I think I'm gonna re-route my trip
I wonder if anybody'd think I'd flipped
If I went to L.A. - via Omaha.

52. Let's see...
1. I understand that we must pay taxes if we want stuff like cops and paved roads, so to I'm sure to the average Freeper douchebag that makes me a "tax-hiker". Check!

2. The expansion of government is neither good nor bad. Sometimes it's necessary and sometimes it isn't. It depends what it's being expanded for. So since I didn't scream "NO!!!" immediately upon seeing the phrase "government-expanding," I guess that makes me guilty on count two.

3. I don't drink latte. I prefer regular house blends. Latte's high lactic content makes me fart also. So a big NO on that one.

4. I don't eat sushi much. I love sashimi though! So in the strictest technical sense, no.

5. I don't read the New York Times, but I do the Sunday crosswords sometimes.

6. Many, many years ago I had my nose pierced, but I stopped wearing it over a decade ago and the hole is no longer viable. Since then I have pierced nothing, so I must answer no.

7. I have never been to Hollywood, so I cannot say I love it.

8. I am pretty moderate in most of my views, which in the current political climate probably means I'm a communist.

So my total is 3 out of 8. I'm not exactly a whiz at percentages, but I don't think I get a very high score. Could it be that this ad is... not accurate? I know, I know, it's hard to believe that a hysterical right wing ad campaign would characterize its quarry in a less-than flattering light, but it sure looks that way.

So sushi and latte and hallmarks of terrorist-coddling, basically? Is that what we're talking about here? Jesus...

53. It's funny
Shortly before logging onto the internet and finding the story about the new ads ("latte-drinking, New York Times-reading...") I was at Starbucks drinking a vanilla latte and reading the Times! I'm dead serious! I also happen to drive a European car and live in one of the most "blue" areas in the country. And I'm gay.

Sometimes I feel like a perfect liberal stereotype. :)

Oh well, at least I'm not a freeper. Now that would be hell.

56. check. I'm kind of like that....
I drive a Toyota and a Buick. I drink Americanos and sometimes Mochas. I do read NYTimes and Newsweek and Time, New Yorker, Slate, truthout.org, In These Times, The Progressive, The Nation....you get the picture.

I eat sushi from time to time.

I don't have gody pierces. I am not terribly enamored of Hollywood. I like indy films more.

I do believe the tax structure should be reconfigured. But I also believe we should expand domestic programs to help education, elderly, and poverty while shrinking USA's forward deployed footprint around the world, missile defense shields, etc. We should give more money to states and multiagency task forces to combat terrorists entering US soil.

Right now Bush is looking pretty liberal himself. He's growing all the wrong parts of the goverment.

60. Damn, this is one stupid ad.
They were pretty close for me.

I'm a tax-hiking (for the rich), government-cutting (pentagon), mountain dew-drinking, vegetarian (even worse!), Honda CRV-driving, Minneapolis Star-Tribune-reading … Tattooed, Hollywood-loving, left-wing non-freak.

But still, it's better than being a Bush* supporter.

61. My God! I just watched the ad. That's an incredibly bad ad.
The people are so obviously scripted and the wife doesn't look at the camera, she's always shifting her eyes. Plus don't they realize that the name calling will backfire, people don't like that. Is he trying to lose Iowa?

They're not likely to take too kindly to it.

Any of you Club for Growth guys wanna meet me in the parking lot of Dunkin' Donuts on Belmont and Clark? I promise I won't bring a gun; that would be the...pusillanimous Republican thing to do.

Thought so.

P.S. It means "the hoof".
