Stevens blocks Porkbuster legislation

According to Talking Points memo http://www.tpmmuckraker.com/archives/001440.php your beloved senator Ted Stevens is the lone senator who has placed a hold on the Porkbuster bill offered by Senator Tom Coburne, R OK. The bill, which is co-sponsored by Senator Barack Obama and others, would establish a data-base of all congressional earmarks. The theory is that transparency would embarrass members into restrining themselves when it came to pork-barrel spending. According to Coburne, Stevens is the guy. You might want to call or email the Senator's office. Stevens' action is apparently motivated by revenge. Sweet.
