Man shot during robbery on Near West Side
Source: chicago breaking news

A 25-year-old man was shot and wounded Monday night in an apparent robbery in the University Village neighborhood on the Near West Side.

The shooting occurred around 7:08 p.m. on the 1400 block of West Harrison Street, Chicago police said.

Early reports had the victim being struck in the upper right thigh and taken to Stroger Hospital in serious condition, police spokeswoman Anne Dwyer said.

This on it's own is just another big city story... well except to the family. But sooner or later with the current economic problems we will see more of this.

1. I'm confused. Turn on Chicago news ANY night and you will hear this story.
or something similar where someone got shot. Shootings and fires and stories about celebrities. That's our local news.

but sooner or later these stories will break just from the if it bleeds it leads.

We are going to see an increase in crime.

5. Sickening. The NRA keeps telling us that "guns are safe" Mmmkay
I know that there are geographic differences on that issue which make sense, but I am so tired of the violence caused by people having access to firearms
