State Senator Sonia Chang-Diaz voted Best Local Politician in Boston Phoenix Best of Boston awards:
SONIA CHANG-DIAZ may have first won office in 2008 by virtue of not being Dianne Wilkerson, but she won re-election last year by compiling an impressive record of lawmaking and constituent service. She helped pass CORI (Criminal Offender Record Information) reform and foreclosure-protection laws, while landing funding for youth summer jobs and renovation of the Cass Recreation Facility. And this year, she's taking over as Senate chair of the Education Committee, and sits on the special redistricting committee that will decide how Bostonians are represented in Washington. Oh, and she just turned 33.
