2. The recall picked up a lot of steam in July

They collected 300,000 signatures in one month and may drop off the 10,000 signatures collected in May and June. They have to collect all the signatures they use within a 90-day period that falls within the 180-day period from approval of the petition language. I understand the plan is that once they collect the number they need, they will use that as the end date and backtrack 90 days from that point to get the starting date. This will probably mean it will be too late for November, which would be why it won't be until February.

Despite what you may have read and heard in the media this past week, this recall is far from done. We have extended our petition drive and we are continuing to collect signatures for submission to the February ballot.
