Maxanne, we need your wisdom!!!
So, Maxanne, tell us what you thought about Gary Dodd's speech at the Grover Cleveland Dinner.

Are you impressed by the fact that he "likes to smile"? And how about the Rotary motto...where does Jeb stand on that? Is there a Kiwanis motto that might be even better?

Oh, and who is this "Governor Richards" chap, anyway?

1. Hmmm...
One of the great things about living in the north country is that we meet everyone, usually early on in their campaigns. I met Howard Dean long before most people had even heard of him.

I was honored to meet my new first district Congressman Gary Dodd. It's a pity his people didn't explain to him though, that he was meeting BILL Richardson, not Ann Richards. ;)

2. Hey, c'mon...
Given the striking physical resemblance between Gov. Bill and Gov. Ann, the confusion is understandable, is it not?

By the way, congratulations for being the first, last and only person who will ever utter the phrase "Congressman Gary Dodds" (D-Mars).

4. Yoicks
I saw Mr. Dodd in Rye this morning. Someone introduced us, and he found I'd been at the Cleveland dinner. He asked me what I thought of his speech. I told him it was too unfocused and too long. He looked a bit horrified - I told him to beware of asking ME those questions, because I won't lie.

I did gild the lily a little. I didn't mention my date pantomiming sticking a fork in his own eye. ;)
