So, how long will it take the legislature to put forth and pass a revised abortion bill?

We all know that the likes of Napoli, despite being chastised by the voters, and despite the loss of extremist candidates like Elli Schwiesow, are NOT just simply going to sit down and shut up, finally, much less go away. And they know that the extreme restrictiveness of the abortion bill was a major reason for its defeat, that a lot of people who would have voted for it voted against it just for that reason.

So, how long do you think it will take them to waste yet more legislative time revising and arguing and passing a new, less restrictive abortion bill? I bet that they start in on it on the very first day of the legislative session, and that they continue to ignore far more pressing issues that directly affect our lives in this state. Anyone else wanna hazard a guess?

1. How many new Democratic candidates won election to the Legislature?

I read in the Argus that there will at least be three new pro-choice Democrats in the Senate from the southeastern part of the state. If Al Hoerth hangs on in District 3, that would be another vote. The more Democrats that won last night the less likely it is that the Legislature will take up the abortion issue again.

2. Oh, I think the legislature will try to take it up again

first thing, no matter what. Don't forget, there were senate and house dems who voted for the bill, as well. Even if they encounter more resistance, they're still going to waste a lot of legislative time with it.

3. It depends on a couple of things...

... whether an actual investigation/grand jury or lawsuit is filed concerning Roger Hunt's "mystery donor" and the $750,000 that came into the anti-choice PAC.

It also depends on whether Leslie Unruh is able to hit a crazy days sale.
