’ow’s about that then?
Edited on Sat Oct-29-11 09:13 AM by dipsydoodle
Former DJ and television presenter Sir Jimmy Savile has died, aged 84.

Savile, who was one of the most famous faces and voices on British TV and radio throughout the 1960s, 70s and 80s, died on Saturday.

His family programme, Jim'll Fix It, drew in huge audiences and the programme received 20,000 letters a week at the height of its popularity.

Savile started out as a DJ on BBC Radio 1 and was the first host of Top of the Pops in 1964.

1. 84 is a good innings...
... and he certainly left behind more good than bad in this life. That's what it's really all about.

The main question for me is how will Hugh Dennis react on Mock the Week?

7. Very true.
His Charity work alone was amazing. And there's a lot of people out there who had a lot of time for him as a former Bevin Boy.

His Wikipedia page below is testament to one heck of a life

5. Certainly one of life's originals.
Sleep well, Jimmy. Sorry I never actually got round to joining the Teen and Twenties Disc Club on 208.
