Jennifer beats Fantasia
for the role of Effie in Dreamgirls the movie. I was rooting for my homegirl Tasia, but I can understand why Jennifer Hudson won the role. Here the link:

1. Fantasia -- really ready for acting?
I recall reading Fantasia was illiterate but was learning to read...so how could she be up to studying for an acting role?

4. Dateline Exaggerated
I'm from NC and Tasia did a radio interview and she said that she could read. She asked how could someone think she couldn't read when she hosted the BET awards and the Lady of Soul awards? She had to read the teleprompter.

She clarified it on the radio and said that she could read, but big words tripped her up sometimes.

3. I saw the original on Broadway twice with the original cast members.
I wanted Fantasia for the role of Effie. I'm not familiar with Jennifer Hudson but congratulations are in order.
