Fuck
How many threads on "Michelle's dress"?

Now, I don't' mind certain fashion. For instance, I'l love to see men in kilts or toga's without underwear, golden armbands and extravagant jewelry. Just a thought. Maybe a Lawarence of Arabia look. A bit of eyeliner to tart it up. Hair long enough to move when they walk. Shoes with lift. In color without names.

What do we get? Men in black and ties and Women endlessly criticized or praised for fucking fashion choices.

Fuck. Oh, I said that.

1. I lost count.

Especially given the endless comments yesterday about the First Lady's "grace" and "carriage." "She's so graceful, it's a pleasure to watch her move..."

As if to say they were surprised she didn't lumber or stumble about. Or was this some sort of comment on the grace (or lack of) of other former first ladies? ...and why was this being discussed at all?

Oh yeah, I forgot. Because if they weren't, we would be treated to discussions of Biden's boots.

2. It IS important you know. :sarcasm tag:
I really don't mind the threads on her party dresses but the focus in the media on her inauguration outfit was a bit much. I defended that position here:
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=105&topic_id=8433782&mesg_id=8433854
and here:
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=105&topic_id=8433782&mesg_id=8434168

but I probably should have taken it up some place other than the lounge.

No one was talking about Pelosi or Feinstein's outfits but that was probably because they were safely neutral like a man's suit. The fact that Michelle Obama wore dressy but appropriate attire seemed enough to launch a thousand threads.

3. There's one going now about Joan Rivers' comment about Jill Biden's dress.
So, it's a discussion of the dress and Rivers.
