Have your family and friends begun to ...
wake up to the lies of bushco. I have noticed that people who never were interested in politics have begun to wonder what is going on and are asking questions. I believe it is because they have been hit in the pocket book among other things.

1. Not really.
Those who are real Americans have long been disgusted with Shrub.

Those who are repukes have kept their blinders on... there was no Prescott Bush, according to them. Denial of reality is a requirement for support of the POS.

40. absolutely- most people are scared to death..
For some unknown reason, I am surrounded by Republicans..
Is that a depressing thought or what?

When you mention the latest upgrades/downgrades in the form of presidential signings,
they start sucking their cheeks inward..you know the gaunt look..The most bizarre thing
I've ever seen. You're talking to them, trying to convey the jeopardy we're in..and
the next signal you get amounts to 'sign language' because their ears are shutting down..

It must be some type of autonomous defense mechanism kicking in..When they get to that point,
I just start laughing at their peculiar looking faces..and sort of look them in the eye as they
read my lips (did I just say that?) and mouthe..."you don't want to hear it, do you?" Silently,
they nod their heads in approval with eyes begging me to STOP!

I've had a day full of them today. Just thought I'd share a little with ya'll..

5. I see them quite often, in the oddest places
Saw a car with a bunch of BushCo stickers and a few Christian ones (Jesus is watching, what will you say an Judgement day) parked outside a porn store. One that rents.

Saw a car with a BushCo sticker and a bunch of the standard RW Christian crap (Got Jesus?, Terri was Murdered, Marriage = (man) + (woman), etc) parked illegally in a non-existant space at McDonalds...

And I see plenty of those stupid circle W04 stickers at liquor stores.

Interestingly enough, I never see these stickers near the military recruiters' offices....

3. My wife and my mother in law and I
Edited on Wed Sep-27-06 01:04 PM by BOSSHOG
are dyed in the wool democrats (as was my father in law prior to his death two years ago.) We had bush pegged before the 2000 election. I have a few neanderthal brothers-in-law who aren't as loud as they used to be. Especially the one who's son is a junior in high school. The son was tucked away safely in the 8th grade when the war began and daddy was rah-rah-rahing.

Based on the letters to the editor in the New Orleans and Gulfport papers its just about a draw. The fucking morons too proud to admit they are wrong getting their ltte's handed to them by angry liberal letter writers sick and tired of "conservative" shit.

that they will start the draft. Those generals who testified this week were saying they need 60 thousand soldiers but they really need more, this is only the beginning.

12. Please share with them
a line I use that pisses off "conservatives" off so much they go blind when I say it:

If Clinton, Kerry or Gore had been president on 9-11, there would not have been a terrorist attack because those men did not need a terrorist attack.

Guaranteed to piss off any member of the universe who is not intellectually curious.

44. Yep I hear those statements a lot.
Even some dems I know say things like "there was nothing Bush could've done about 9/11 so there's no point in trying to blame him" and "there's nothing the Democrats would've done differently" :banghead:

And the backwash all believe Fox is fair and balanced, and CNN is a 'leftist' channel so you can't believe anything you hear on THAT network.
They refuse to believe ANYTHING that doesn't come off of Fox. Therefore, in their minds, Iraq is loving their new freedom, Afghanistan is going swimmingly, the economy couldn't be better, we are safer now than before 9/11 and Bush is a great president. :puke:

16. Ugh, no
Since you asked I guess this is as good as any to share what I am dealing with. My bush*bot MIL just moved back to Portland with her ailing rapture-ready mother. Up till recently I've dealt with the self-loathing republicanism of MIL by keeping my distance. But Grandma had a little turn and now needs assistance, so now I come here everyday

I don't see MIL much, but besides being religiously insane, grandma listens to all of the "religious" shows that are pimping the upcoming war on Iran and just in general spew hate and fear. Now on a daily basis I get to hear all of the gop talking points as they are chewed, swallowed, and puked up by Grandma via her watching faux newz & the christian taliban stations.

MASHED POTATOS??!!

He used to be a political junkie and now watches NOTHING and doesn't want to even discuss politics. I think he's having some serious cognitive dissonance.

I know better than to expect that he won't go out and vote Republican becasue he's a follower and follows the rest of my family who is rock-solid Republican.

I don't even bother telling him anything becuase it just drives him further into his position - he thinks I'm a hard core radical. I only hope that someone else can get him to wake up.

25. I still see the "W" stickers but..
there's a lady in my town who has had two signs on her front lawn supporting Bush and the War (they said something like "We stand united with President Bush and our troops") for three years. She's had them knocked down frequently and they've been stolen before but she just makes new ones, so I didn't think too much of it when I didn't see them a couple weeks ago. Then I noticed that they still aren't up. I saw her in the gas station two days ago and I casually said "I see someone took your signs again". She just looked at me and said "No, I took them down" but she didn't say anymore than that and I didn't push-I'm hopeful though.

I have a theory bout them though. They are all "one reason" Bush followers.
They still hold their head high and proclaim their loyalty cause of the "one reason" He got tough on terrorism, made a move after 9/11.

Personally, I think ANY sitting Prez would have had to make some kind of move...but no....only the cowboy would/did.

So, they ignore Iraq, kids getting strip searched in schools, the major lie about the economy, etc. urrrrrrrghhh.
