My opportunity to inform a fundie today about PNAC
As I was leaving church today, I ran into an old acquaintance. He is as far right as I am left.
He spouted out asking me what we meaning the Democrats are going to do with Congress.
I said if they had a true majority, we might see some significant changes in this country and get back to at least center.
He asked me why the country is so polarized these days. I laid it out to him, Iraq, Iran and Katrina.
I went on to tell him that with all the crazy leaders in this country including ours that we were headed for some dark times.
He asked me who I thought was behind it. Perfect opportunity, OH YES...

I laid out the whole PNAC thing, letting him have all that I could regurgitate in the 5 minutes we had to talk before our families stepped in.
He was totally unaware of the existence of the PNAC and their objectives. I suggested he look them up and read their objectives.

We will see what if anything changes in his point of view.

1. good job.
PNAC is the key. Fundies who are capable of thinking for themselves at all, should start there.

2. Well Done!
We have to challenge them with those pesky facts whenever possible. In a respectful method. Calm conversation does much more in my opinion than most anything else can.

4. You may be fortunate at catching him at exactly the right time
because it sounds pretty clear that a few doubts about the dogma are already starting to creep in.

He may be afraid to look up the PNAC website for some time. Just be there to answer any questions he has. Honest answers will get you all kinds of places. Unsolicited lectures will only make him defensive.

In the meantime, his Fed taxes haven't gone up and the sky hasn't fallen. There goes a lot of the fear, right there.

5. Ah, but he is out of a job and has been for several months
So it has to be hitting him where it hurts. I noticed the Mercedes is gone and he is driving an older SUV that he had for a long time.

When he catches up with you again, you might tell him that Cheney has a tested plan to invade Khuzestan, Iran.

7. PNAC gets them every time.
I've opened a few eyes and minds by telling freeps on the edge to look up PNAC.It helps if you compare it to Mien Khampf.

13. Isn't that the truth
I've used PNAC numerous times. When they start spouting off, I ask them what they know about PNAC? I usually get that deer in the headlight look. When they say "nothing" I tell them that we cannot continue the conversation with their limited knowledge.

15. When they say "nothing"
Same here.
"Argument is over until you educate yourself. And if you do and agree with PNAC you are nothing but a war criminal yourself. And I don't argue with war criminals.I work to destroy them."

That is my standard reply. It really freaks them out when I'm all in their face throwing that at them!

8. You need to buy a copy of The Power of Nightmares
It lays out the birth of the NeoCons and their use of the church. This is the most informative documentary I've watch on the NeoCons (PNAC members).

9. I still remember when a parishioner told me about the PNAC website
I was already a Democrat, and a social progressive...but that website was a real eye-opener. I started e-mailing it to everyone I knew. And got some pretty stunned responses.

I'm glad someone told me about it. Here's hoping it'll have a similar effect on your friend.

11. I too was talking to a 'repuke'
funny, he was really liberal. Anywhoo, I pointed out PNAC to him and he had no clue either.
Very sheltered people they are.
