(First time posting... hi all...)

Democrats don't have the votes... period...

And I'll take all of this one step further and postulate that this may be a deliberate move by the Republican Leaders to hold these hearings and move towards "impeachment" as a precautionary move in case the Democrats gain control of one or both houses BECAUSE they know that it will do down in flames...

The question is... if the Republican leadership throws up a kangaroo court around Katrina or the NSA Wiretaps or even the Iraqi intelligence with the expectation that nothing will come of it, will the Democrats be able to pick it up if they gain control in November?

I'm not sure they can and I'm a little wary about getting excited that Specter and a few Republicans in the House are calling for hearings... I don't trust them on this even as much as I've been calling for oversight as much as anyone else...
