Famed theoretical physicist and cultural icon Stephen Hawking, who has been recovering from a chest infection, canceled his appearance as the headliner today at Arizona State University's Origins Symposium, the school announced Sunday. Hawking was to deliver the concluding lecture to the four-day conference.
