They know it would only take a few honest journalists doing their job on the ground in Iraq to make the American public see this brutal and illegal occupation for what it is. Honest in-your-face journalism is what media did at the scene on the ground in New Orleans in the wake of Katrina. The boys in the Pentagon aren't gonna let that happen in Iraq. To stop it they invoke their favorite solution for dealing with any perceived threat---eliminate it.
