1. the ministry of fisheries
back in 1980, i worked, out of Lunenberg Nova Scotia, on the Nat Sea Products trawlers for a summer. Out on the Grand Banks, i went out on deck (i was an engineer) and saw lights on the horizon- all the way around, 360 fukken degrees! Lights from other trawlers, factory ships, all doing the same thing. Over 100 miles from land, outta sight/mind, strip mining the ocean of the cod stocks! And the Ministry of fisheries? Oh, they were telling everyone it was an endless resource, the ocean is bottomless, there is no limit to the bounty of the seas, and the Titanic was unsinkable!(?) The cod fisherie was shut down in late 80's, and the cod stock WILL NEVER recover. Ever. And the SEA SHEPHERD are heroes. And the CBC news is so outright biased towards the government that they gave the Hearn jackass 5 minutes airtime to libel the motives of the captain and 1st mate, who are due in court.
Bring on the apocalypse, dammit!
