I served at Ft Carson from 90-92 and Colorado Springs was fairly 'bat-sh*t' crazy back then.
The city had more fundamentalist-evangelical churches than doctors.

The local news paper was the Colorado Springs Gazette-Telegraph (A member of the freedom papers network)

I'm assuming it hasn't changed much -- which is a pity.
A lot of nice scenery in the area.

Used to have a great bookstore-theater "Poor Richards" (I think was the name) It was near Colorado College. I heard they tore it down -- figures
