Hi Zidzi
The problem is that Simmons (the Bush/Cheney energy advisor I quoted) said back in the 60's they thought that we would have until 2050 or 2070 until the affects of Peak Oil were noticed and therefore there could be a time to develop a "plan B". However, it is becoming more apparent that oil production could very well be peaking right now or within the next 10 to 15 years or so. That leaves us very much in the lurch and our options for developing a "Plan B" or a means to a viable non-petroleum based economy completely in the lurch.
For anyone interested in finding out more about this issue, check out www.hubbertpeak.com or just type: "peak oil" into google and follow the links.
