This is one nation. What happened to us happened to them. And only fools like Falwell thought they wouldn't know that.

Those people you are insulting climbed into their trucks and drove without rest and brought us food and aid. They brought their dogs and their muscles and they dug in the poisonous dirt to find our bodies, hoping to find our survivors.

They poured into every hospital in this nation and gave their blood because they thought we would need it. They opened their wallets and sent money to help the families cope with the loss of their breadwinners.

Don't you dare insult the grief of Americans. It is and was genuine and practical and honest.
