As a former NY'er (westchester county) who wishes to return, I congratulate you on your post. I sound like a NY'er (wonder why?) and I live in South Carolina. They hate us here. Period. Even thought I was born in SC but I moved up to NY when I was 2. Bad bad parents.

Now I have a few friends here, mostly people from other states because just the way I speak can offend people here. You know the kind, I ask the flipping question directly and if I don't understand something that was said then I will ask you to say it again. I personally thought this was the way to speak, who knew? I'm always asked, You're not from here are you? Sometimes I answer well yes I am to screw with their minds.

I always believed and still do that NY'ers, no matter what state or country they came from originally are the cream of the crop to be able to live in NY City. The rest of the nation has no idea how difficult it it to live in the city. You have to work your ass off. Sure someone may know someone but in NY that is just not good enough.

Wonderful city. No one bothers anyone and you can be anything you like. All different colors and languages. The real America.
