16. As a newspaper reporter covering police and courts...
I ran into this sort of incident more times than I like to remember. The very worst was the scalding a Bible-thump mother inflicted on her son after she caught him masturbating: one of the many stories that never saw the light of day in a "family" newspaper -- this despite the fact male-versus-male violence (shotgunnings, cuttings etc.) were considered "normal" for the region.

In the Minneapolis case, I wonder if the assailant picked her victim at random, or if assailant and victim were acquainted. Story doesn't say: very sophomoronic reporting and editing to have left out that vital element.
