In a strange way, I admire the republicans tenacity....

...while at the same time despising them and what they stand for.

As the current little hissy fit over the judicial nominations shows and everything else that has happened since Bush took office, the democrats believe in compromise for the greater good while the republicans will accept nothing less than 100 percent compliance with their agenda. The singlemindedness with which they fight when they got 98% of what they wanted with judicial nominees underscores not only their determination but the danger we face from the opposition that wants nothing more than utter and complete victory and will settle for nothing less.

And while I can step away and admire their tenacity, it shows us exactly how dangerous the republicans are. They have no interest in plurality, compromise, or even acceptance of the existance of dissent and that frightens me.
