Discovery Channel scrambled a horse's dong.

Anybody catch "Dirty Jobs" on the Discovery Channel last night? I just happened to see it, and it was on horse breeding. Intriguing? Oh, yes. But the funniest (in a sad way) part was when they were getting the sperm from the male. Being sent to stud isn't half the fun they make it out to be. They have fake vaginas that the male horse ejaculates into. What was ridiculous was that Discovery Channel used their magic 'digital smearing' to hide the 16" erect horse penis. Not 10 minutes later, the host has his arm up the mare's vagina, and Discovery is airing every bit of it.

You see where this is going, don't you? Here's my email to The Discovery Channel:

Last night (5/11/05) I watched "Dirty Jobs" on horse breeding. For the individual/committee/group that made the decision to digitally smear the horse penis, I have one question: Do you really think that those people whose sensitivities are so delicate that they are offended by a 16" erect horse penis (and who you sought to protect by digitally smearing the image) aren't going to be offended by (a) the host dancing around like Frank Sinatra with a bag of horse semen (even if it is worth $25K), or (b) the host being buried elbow-deep in a horse vagina (and continuously uttering "that's one clean vulva")? A piece of advice: TRUST YOUR VIEWERS. You made a poor decision - there was no need to try to censor yourself. If you are going to air the show, go ahead and air it (even if you have to put a little disclaimer before it: "Note: If you are offended by the phrase 'hung like a horse', you probably shouldn't watch this.") But placing a scrambler of the horse's dong made me laugh AT the show, not with it.
