A few years ago my sister was doing an internship in Ireland. While she was there our uncle died unexpectedly. Very shortly after his time of death (which was day here and night in Ireland) she awoke from a dream where he had come to visit and told her that he was checking in on everyone one last time to tell them that he was ok. This was before she found out he had died.

I don't know what to make of stuff like this because I'm not sure I believe in an afterlife. Not in dreams but several times I swear out of the corner of my eye I've seen my dead cat cross the room or sometimes I think I see her sitting in the shadows. Probably this is nothing more than a manifestation of my missing her (she's been gone for 10 years) but it still always makes me gasp.
